Mr. Joshua Rogers, a journalist and reporter with Channels Television, was abducted by gunmen at his residence in Rumuosi, Rivers State on Thursday night.

Rogers, who covers the Rivers State Government House for his organization, was followed by the assailants after he finished work and arrived home.

Upon his arrival, the criminals confronted him, brandished a firearm, and forcefully took him and his vehicle to an undisclosed location at approximately 9 pm. According to an anonymous source, Rogers had previously attended an event in Ndoni, Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, where Governor Siminalayi Fubara inaugurated a Primary Healthcare Centre donated by the PAMO Educational Foundation.

The source revealed that the journalist was kidnapped from his residence and driven away in his own car by unidentified gunmen. The source further appealed to the kidnappers to release Rogers unharmed, emphasizing that he is merely a journalist carrying out his professional duties and not a wealthy individual.
