Gunmen Priest Ike and parishioner in Anambra abducted by armed individuals

In Anambra State on Sunday, gunmen abducted a parishioner named Ogbonnia Aneke and a Catholic reverend father named Christian Ike.

This was revealed in a statement released on Sunday by the Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia in Anambra State, which asked for prayers for their release.

According to the Church, Fr. Ike and Ogbonnia were abducted while leaving St. Matthew’s Parish, Ajalli, Orumba North in the state of Anambra, after Mass.

“Fr. Lawrence Nwankwo, Rev. Please offer prayers for the release of Mr. Ogbonnia Aneke and Rev. Fr. Christian Ike, who were abducted this morning approximately 9.45 a.m. while returning from Mass in an outstation of St. Matthew’s Parish, Ajalli, Orumba North, LGA.

“We beseech Our Mother of Perpetual Help’s maternal intercession on their behalf.”

As at the time of this report, the Nigeria Police Force has not responded to the kidnapping.
