Gunmen kill doctor in Nasarawa

Owner of the Lafia-Angbas Clinic Dr. Stephen Angbas was slain by unidentified gunmen.

The terrible occurrence occurred on Tuesday night while Angbas was riding his motorbike to his farm in the Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the attackers, who were likely armed robbers, attacked Angbas and his accompanying Okada rider with a brutal blade.

Angbas unfortunately passed away from his wounds, but the motorbike rider, Mikailu Dahiru, was taken to a neighbouring hospital and is now undergoing emergency care for his wounds.

Mr. Ibrahim, a prominent member of the local government council, expressed his serious worry for the occurrence.

He added that the security officials have been alerted by the Council Chairman for quick action.

DSP Rahman Nansel, a spokesman for the State Police, further corroborated the claim by making the following assertion:

“Today, on October 17, 2023, at around 4:00 pm, mobile police officers learned terrible details of a tragic assault that occurred along the Jangargari-Awe Road.

Tragically, Dr. Angbass Stephen passed away from his severe injuries, and Mikailu Dahiru, a commercial motorbike rider, survived the attack.

“In light of this senseless violence, CP Maiyaki Baba offers the lost family his sincere sympathies and has launched a thorough inquiry to find the offenders.

“The Commissioner urges any member of the public with pertinent information to come forward and aid in the prompt capture of those accountable for this despicable act,” the statement reads.
