4 Nasarawa University students are abducted by gunmen

Four students from Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), were kidnapped on Monday night by gunmen.

The incident took place close to Angwan Kare after BCG.

A witness said it occurred around 10:30 p.m.

Rahila Hanya, a student in SLT 100Level, Josephine Gershon, a student in computer science 100Level, Rosemary Samuel, a student in business administration 100Level, and Goodness Samuel – 100-Level Geography.

The Student Union Government chairman, Comrade Oshafu Nuhu Abdulrahman, responded to the event in a statement made available to DAILY POST. He denounced the act and urged students to maintain their composure and participate in prayers as attempts were made to ensure their release in good health.

In order to help security organisations connected to the student community do their jobs, he asked students of the university to stay aware and report any suspicious activity taking place near the school.

“The Students’ Union Government, led by Comrade Oshafu Nuhu Abdulrahman, denounces the barbaric act that took place last night in which four students from our illustrious institution were abducted: Rahila Hanya (5LT 100 Level, Josephine Gershon (COM. SCIENCE 100 Level, Rosemary Samuel (BUSINESS ADMIN 100 Level, and Goodness Samuel (Geography 100 Level).

“While efforts are being made to secure their release in good health, we encourage everyone to maintain calm and join hands in prayer.

To facilitate quick response from security agencies connected to student communities, he added, “Students are advised to be on alert and to report any suspicious movement around the campuses.”
