Gunmen kidnap the wives and six children of Taraba chief

Gunmen have taken Justice Sani Muhammad (ret. ), the chief of Mutum Biyu in the state of Taraba, and his family.

In the early hours of Thursday, the kidnappers reportedly broke into Muhammed’s home in Jalingo, the state capital, and took the victims away.

On Friday, Abdullahi Usman, the state’s police public relations officer, confirmed the incident over the phone with Channels Television.

He clarified that the Taraba State Police Command will not stop until the kidnapping victims are freed.

Sources say that the kidnappers called the traditional head and asked for a ransom. However, the traditional head was not in the complex at the time of the event.
