Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, was honored as the best men’s coach at The Best FIFA Awards 2023.

Under Guardiola’s guidance, City achieved a remarkable treble last season, securing the Champions League title in addition to their triumphs in the Premier League and FA Cup. The shortlist for the award also included Simone Inzaghi, the boss of Inter Milan, Ange Postecoglou, the former Celtic manager now at Tottenham, Luciano Spalletti, who led Napoli to the Serie A title, and Xavi from Barcelona.

Guardiola expressed his gratitude to the owners of Manchester City and acknowledged the contributions of his backroom staff and players, emphasizing the incredible journey they have embarked on together.

Additionally, six players from Guardiola’s City side were named in the men’s team of the year, including John Stones, Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, and Erling Haaland. Jude Bellingham, an England and Real Madrid midfielder, was also included in the team. Despite not making the team of the year, City’s goalkeeper Ederson received the men’s best goalkeeper award.
