Fifty additional special advisers for Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi have been given approval by the state assembly.

The governor’s request to appoint an additional 50 special advisers was read by Speaker of the House Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin on Wednesday.

The governor requested the appointment of 25 advisers, which the House earlier authorised, according to OBASANJO NEWS24.

In accordance with the provisions of Sections 96 (1) and (2) of Part II of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), the Governor’s letter to the State Legislature requested that it consider and approve the appointment of 50 Special Advisers of the Jigawa State Government.

While Section 91 (1) gives him the authority to designate any anyone as a special adviser to help him carry out his duties, Section 96 (2) stipulates that the number of such advisers must be set forth in a resolution passed by the House of the Assembly of the state.

The request “is in accordance WITH THE administration’s commitment to pursue multifaceted socioeconomic development initiatives as specified in the 12-point agenda: Development for Greater Jigawa.

Getting the approval, according to Dangyatin, will help to ensure that everything runs well in the government.
