Dr. Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu State, has congratulated the Muslim community in the state and throughout the country on the occasion of Eid-El-Kabir this year. He has called on Nigerians to demonstrate love, tolerance, peace, unity, and selflessness in order to advance the country.

Speaking on Sunday during Eid el-Kabir, Mbah expressed his goodwill to the Muslim faithful and emphasised that all Nigerians must sacrifice and be committed to nation-building if the current socioeconomic problems are to be resolved.

“I extend warm greetings on this occasion of Eid el-Kabir to our Muslim brothers and sisters in Enugu State in particular and throughout the nation,” he added.

As we rejoice, let’s also consider and internalise the principles of selflessness, compassion, love, sacrifice, harmony, humility, and obedience to God’s will that this event symbolises.

In order to make sure that no one is left behind as we get through these trying times, let’s bear in mind to be our brother’s keeper and have compassion for our neighbours. We can only overcome the current obstacles and create the Nigeria of our dreams by uniting in love and dedication to our country.

“As an administration, we are still dedicated to creating an equitable Enugu State where all people, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic backgrounds, have the chance to prosper and realise their aspirations.

“I hope everyone in Nigeria has a joyous Eid el-Kabir.”
