Governor Adeleke issues a stern warning to those involved in the Ifon/Ilobu conflict

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun, has sworn to punish those responsible for the recent uptick in violence in Ifon and Ilobu towns.

Governor Adeleke announced this during a virtual security meeting that was in progress on Tuesday, according to a statement from Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson.

Furthermore, according to Governor Adeleke, anybody who started the attacks again would be apprehended and charged with violating the peace in the region.

According to Obasanjo News24, there were violent altercations in both villages on Monday.

Additionally, it was discovered that three people had passed away since the violent altercations in both neighbourhoods resumed.

“Last night, I conducted a virtual security meeting. This is now a physical encounter. We won’t spare those who are behind this heinous deed.

“Any traditional ruler who is discovered to be stoking the flames of conflict will lose their position. The necessary information regarding the level of involvement of well-known leaders from the two regions is being obtained.

“I have provided pertinent orders that are being implemented to defuse the situation since yesterday.Security teams have started de-escalation efforts and have continued them through the night.

While addressing a national minimum wage meeting at the State House in Abuja, the governor stated, “We have dispatched security teams and further measures will soon be announced.”

The governor issued a warning, saying, “Those involved this time around will pay the price in line with the law of the land.”
