The Abia State Government has officially removed HRM Eze Edward Ebere Eule, the traditional ruler of the Azumini autonomous community in Ukwa East LGA, from his position following his suspension earlier in February 2024 due to alleged misconduct and actions unbecoming of a traditional ruler.
Governor Alex Otti approved the withdrawal of Eze Eule’s staff of office and certificate of recognition, as stated in a press release signed by the Abia State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu.
The press statement highlighted that the removal was a direct consequence of Eze Ebere Eule’s failure to adhere to the directives outlined in the suspension letter he received on February 23, 2024, in accordance with the Abia State Traditional Rulers and Autonomous Communities Amended Number 2 Law 2018.

An inquiry panel set up by the Abia State Government found Eze Edward Ebere guilty of the allegations of misconduct, leading to his removal as the traditional ruler of the Azumini autonomous community.
The statement advised Eze Eule to stop presenting himself as the traditional ruler and return the staff of office and certificate of recognition within 14 days from the date of the announcement, emphasizing that all privileges and rights previously granted to him have been revoked.
