Gov. Adeleke and Osun PDP senators’ support is insignificant during Oyetola’s ministerial screening, according to the APC
The three senators from the Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, supported Oyetola during the ministerial screening process, according to the All Progressives Congress, or APC, in Osun State.
This comes as the Osun APC advised the state’s governor, Ademola Adeleke, and PDP members to stop saying that former governor Adegboyega Oyetola’s political fortunes rested on their whims and caprices.
The party made this announcement on Tuesday in a statement from Tajudeen Lawal, the chairman.
The opposition of Governor Adeleke, the Osun PDP, the three senators, and PDP members in the state, according to Lawal’s statement, would not have stopped the nomination of Oyetola as minister.
Lawal said that even if they had opposed him, he could still have climbed through.
The so-called Osun State senatorial support, whose goal could not have been sincere, was elevated to the level of a superb problem by the state PDP, the governor, and his allies.
“The support given to Gboyega Oyetola by the three PDP senators during the former Osun State governor’s screening for a ministerial nomination in the Senate wasn’t particularly noteworthy because there is no Senate rule that requires such support as a requirement to be screened.
“The three PDP senators from Osun’s senatorial district and Governor Adeleke’s opposition would not have prevented Oyetola from becoming a minister.
“The Osun State PDP senators just used the occasion as a way to join the winning team and avoid airing their dirty laundry in front of the public.
The three senators from the PDP and the candidates from all other parties “stepped on the blood of the innocent members and supporters of the APC in Osun State to make their way to the fraudulent electoral victory that they are now parading,” according to the right-thinking members of the Osun State society.
Assuaging APC members and supporters in Osun State for the extrajudicial killings of over 30 APC members by PDP thugs during the series of previous elections in the state, Lawal characterised the support from the three PDP senators from Osun.
A minister represents the President in all the states that make up the country, whereas a governor only oversees his state. This distinction should stick in the minds of the Osun PDP town criers and their principal, aside from the fact that Governor Adeleke would need Oyetola’s services as a minister.
According to OBASANJO NEWS24, Senator Francis Fadahunsi and Senator Lere Oyewumi both spoke highly of Oyetola, the Osun State ministerial nominee, at the Senate’s screening of the former governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Friday.
In his eulogy for Oyetola, Oyewumi said that Governor Ademola Adeleke had instructed all three PDP senators who represent the state in the Senate to support Oyetola’s nomination for a cabinet position.
