The German government has officially introduced the Consular Services Portal, a worldwide online platform aimed at streamlining the visa application process by enabling applicants to submit their forms digitally.

Initially announced two years prior, the portal started operating on January 1, 2025. This transition signifies a significant move from conventional paper-based procedures to a more efficient digital system across all 167 German visa sections globally.
