General elections in 2023: Simi criticises INEC for wasting N300 billion
Simi, a well-known stage name of Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, has criticised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the way the general election of 2023 was handled.
The voting process, in the singer’s opinion, was unsatisfactory and did not live up to the N300 billion spent on election administration.
Simi further criticised Nigerian youngsters, particularly those who had turned into tools in the hands of desperate politicians, by informing them that the latter solely had their own interests in mind.
The musician was in response to the unrest and irregularities that rocked the elections on February 25 and March 18, 2023.
And all of this for politicians that could care less about you or your family. They only utilise you, they say. It’ll be you, the poverty you’re longing to keep, and your newly discovered lack of guilt once this election is finished. They won’t give a damn about you. Tribalism is shameful, she wrote in a tweet.
“300 billion naira budget for this mockery of an election,” she continued. @inecnigeria You could as well have given them their money back to repair some hospitals and schools instead of merely pointing at the folks you wanted.
