Mele Kyari, the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, has stated that there won’t be another shortage of petroleum products in 2019.

At a meeting with Senate leadership on Wednesday, he provided the promise.

Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, and other Senate principals were informed by Kyari that the oil giant can ensure a consistent supply of petrol through January of the next year.

“From now until next year, we have strong supply plants; we have always planned for three months,” he stated. And I promise, Your Excellency, that there won’t be any shortages in our nation.

There are sporadic stories that you could come across regarding fueling stations that people refer to as lines. They’re not.

Kyari also disclosed that the Warri refinery would begin operations in the first quarter of 2024, while the Port Harcourt refinery would begin operations in December.
Even though he reiterated his concerns about the terrible condition of the nation’s pipeline network, Kyari insisted that his leadership was committed to bringing order back to the pipeline distribution system.

“All of the ongoing efforts and engagements, with the President’s support, regarding how to contain the problems of pipeline violations and vandalism, for which we have been receiving support from the Senate to ensure that action is taken to reduce it to the bare minimum; so that pipelines for oil are restored, allowing us to keep up production increases, and the confidence of investors so that no one would produce oil when he is not sure of producing oil for the future market.”

Godswill Akpabio, the president of the Senate, advised the NNPCL’s management to look for measures to increase the amount of petroleum products produced locally in his remarks.
