Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has praised the Governorship Election Tribunal’s decision to uphold his election.

The decisions, according to Governor Fubara, are the first step in the affirmation of the confidence the state’s citizens have placed in him.

At a brief thanksgiving service held Monday night at the Chapel of Everlasting Grace, Government House, Port Harcourt, he reiterated his vow to uphold the hopes of the Rivers people.

Politicians and some members of the State Executive Council were present during the ceremony.

The position of God will not be compromised in Fubara’s administration, and he thanked Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State and current minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his tremendous support of his campaign for governor and throughout the legal process.

The governor requested additional help from the people of Rivers in a statement released by his Senior Special Adviser, Boniface Onyedi, and urged them to have patience with his administration as it works to improve their lives via good governance.
