The GAFDAN chairman described the incident as follows: “On Monday, after coming to the community to gather some of their possessions left from the recent incidents where our members’ houses were burned down, the chief Imam and his younger were attacked.

They proceeded there to try and seize some of their belongings when they were unexpectedly ambushed. The imam was slain by the thugs, while his younger brother just suffered cuts from a machete.

“On Monday, while escorting a passenger to Bokkos Market, our comrade and okada rider Muhammad Gambo was killed. He was the second deceased. The chairman continued, “We have reported the two incidences to Operation Safe Have in Bokkos as well as the Police.

Bello Matawalle, the state minister for defence, visited the state on Sunday alongside the chiefs of the armed forces. Their visit was intended to express sympathy to the victims of recent assaults and to evaluate the security situation.
