Seyi Olofinjana, a former Super Eagles midfielder, expressed his admiration for the level of play displayed by Smart City and Edel in their Nigeria National League matchday one encounter.

A 1-1 draw was the result of the game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.

Youngster from Smart City, Chinonso Uzoma, scored the first goal in the game’s 20th minute, and Arinze Anya equalised for Edel in the second half.

Olofinjana gave the NNL leadership credit for taking the initiative to market the league.

He told NNL reporters, “I’m impressed with what I saw in the game between Smart City and Edel.”

“Excellent officiating and impressive football skills displayed by young players as both teams paraded.” The league’s organisers are also performing admirably.

This weekend, the league’s matchday two matches will take place at various locations around the nation.
