For the sake of the future, Bello asks Kogi residents to support Ododo
To ensure Alhaji Usman Ododo’s legacy as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor on November 11, Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello has invited the state’s citizens to cast their ballots for him.
For the 32nd anniversary of the founding of the state, Bello made this statement on Sunday in a radio and television broadcast.
He expressed the opinion that all the necessary ingredients were in place for Ododo to build on the accomplishments of his administration.
“We have chosen and submitted Alhaji Usman Ododo to Kogi as our preferred replacement and candidate for the 2023 governorship election. He is well known for his humanity, professionalism, and commanding leadership style.I am asking for your support in the Kogi governorship elections on November 11 because I have faith in his capacity to maintain the upward trend in our growth graph that our New Direction Administration started.
The governor stated, “Our objective is clear: to give a ready Blueprint for our future leadership to continue building Kogi State into Nigeria’s leading and most secure emergent commercial centre, using our geographical location, natural endowments, and human resources for a sustainable future.
“This envisions a functional socio-polity with self-sufficient economy, high standards of living, and abundant socioeconomic opportunities that is sustained by industrialization in an operational environment that promotes ease of doing business and climate-smart processes,” Bello continued.
Additionally, he said that the administration was looking forward to gains in agriculture, security, education, healthcare, and infrastructure as well as greater inter- and intra-personal harmony.
In order to prevent the state from ending up in the hands of a leadership that would disregard the demands of the populace, Bello said he was eagerly anticipating that future with a pressing need.
“Let us keep in mind that any success we have experienced as a state since we joined the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s federation is not the result of the efforts of a single person or institution, but rather the combined efforts of every citizen,” he stated.
The distribution of the palliatives to lessen the effects of the loss of gasoline subsidies on the populace was also assured by Bello while the government was putting the finishing touches on it.
We promise to be with you at every turn, he said, adding that these are difficult times.
