While installing solar panels on a one-story building, a Petroleum Training Institute, Effurun, Delta State final-year student was electrocuted.

Information surfaced that the graphic incident happened on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at a business site near a commercial bank in the Warri Garage Area.

Journalists were told by witnesses that the high-tension wires connecting a nearby commercial bank magnetised the aluminium ladder the student used to ascend to the spot where he planned to install the solar panels.

As a result, witnesses claimed he was electrocuted throughout the operation.

It was also reported that a brave bystander, upon witnessing the unsightly event, promptly employed an extended, arid board to strike the aluminium ladder, effectively separating it from the trembling high-tension cables, to which the young man had inadvertently become attached.

The event occurred as the final-year PTI student was allegedly working on his final project. He was taken right away to a neighbouring private facility for treatment.

It is said that he passed away soon after arriving at the private facility.
