The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to distribute N75,000 to 70 million citizens as part of efforts to combat hunger and economic hardship across the country.

The Federal Government has completed arrangements to disburse ₦75,000 in cash to 70 million Nigerians as part of an initiative to ease economic difficulties.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hon. Aliyu Audu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, announced this initiative. He highlighted that the program demonstrates President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s dedication to alleviating poverty and assisting vulnerable citizens.

Audu, who is also the convener of both the APC National Stakeholders Forum and the APC Rebirth Movement, emphasized President Tinubu’s accomplishments, pointing out that he has shown remarkable progress during his 19 months in office.

Audu stated that Tinubu’s assertive policies have produced concrete results both domestically and internationally, evidenced by a significant rise in foreign portfolio investments entering the country.

He also emphasized that meeting debt obligations is essential to maintaining Nigeria’s corporate integrity on the global stage.

Audu stated that approximately 23 percent of foreign reserves, totaling $7.69 billion over a year (year-on-year), have flowed into the country as a result of effective monetary and fiscal policies implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Government.

He argued that even though the Central Bank’s benchmark interest rate management encouraged foreign exchange inflows, the Federal Government has effectively enhanced its fiscal income through increased activities in the non-oil sector and higher oil production.

Audu observed that at both state and local government council levels, substantial federation allocations are being received. Some have even seen a threefold increase. This financial boost has allowed for better payments to local contractors. Meanwhile, food prices are decreasing because farmers can now access their farms more easily due to enhanced security measures implemented by the armed forces.

He mentioned that the President’s ambitious economic policies are still receiving accolades, with expectations of food surpluses on the horizon due to 255 tractors being delivered to modernize and revolutionize agriculture. These tractors are currently being allocated to farmers.

Audu commended the government for recovering $52.88 million in looted funds from the United States, emphasizing the need for APC advocates to connect with more Nigerians this year and promote Tinubu’s people-focused policies as he nears two years in office by May 29, 2025.

He stated that opposition politicians’ misleading rhetoric about Nigeria’s situation is rapidly dissipating. The country’s progress is evident, as reliable data indicates President Tinubu’s administration is achieving remarkable goals. The World Bank projects a GDP growth of 3.5% for Nigeria in 2025 and an increase to 3.7% by 2026.

As Africa’s leading oil producer, Nigeria experienced a notable surge in its oil sector, with production increasing by 6.3 percent in December 2024 to reach 1.507 million barrels per day, as reported in the recently released January 2025 Monthly Oil Market Report (MOMR). This indicates that the government is achieving higher oil production targets after years of volatility.

This is a positive sign, especially as the Nigeria Customs Service generated N6.105 trillion in 2024, exceeding its revenue collection target by 20.2 percent. As promoters of the APC image, it is our responsibility to share these facts with the public and counteract any negative or misleading narratives.

The year 2025 is pivotal for our strategic communication efforts with Nigerians. It’s essential that we inform people about the President’s activities and initiatives. Currently, President Tinubu’s leadership is in high demand both within the West African region, as he serves as ECOWAS chairman, and globally. Recently, at President Mahama’s inauguration in Ghana, he was celebrated as the special guest of honour.

A few days ago, President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) committed to visiting Nigeria in response to an invitation from our president. This will mark the first visit of its kind in UAE history. Dubai, especially, stands out as a favored destination for many Nigerians second only to the UK.

In just 19 months under Bola Tinubu’s presidency, Nigeria has made significant progress. He has provided us with ample accomplishments to promote in this short period.

Audu issued the appeal as a continuation of a stakeholders’ progressive dialogue held in Abuja from December 19 to 20, 2024. This event aimed to create synergy between APC’s advocates and the heads of key presidential programs to strengthen the party’s support nationwide.
