Two guys who allegedly purchased the stolen car belonging to the murdered Fatinoyes have been detained by the police in Ogun State.
In an operation led by their driver, Lekan Adekanbi, and two other people, Mr. Kehinde Fatinoye, his wife Bukola Fatinoye, and their son Oreoluwa were all killed.
The assassins are also thought to have driven off in the victims’ cars after the murder was committed.
On February 13, 2023, Ogun State Police Command agents detained the two suspects “who acquired the stolen car of the deceased” in their pursuit of those responsible for the murder.
According to a statement from the police spokesman in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the two suspects, Azeez Usman and Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, were detained in Ogun State at various locations after the suspected murderers confessed that the Hyundai automobile was sold to Azeez Usman for N150,000.
After killing the couple, according to Oyeyemi, the suspects kidnapped their son and Felix Olorunyomi, an adopted child, tied them up with rope, and then drove them to the Ogun River bridge in the Adigbe region, where they dumped them into the river.
The car was reportedly parked by the suspects in the Oke Ata neighbourhood of Abeokuta, but they later got in touch with Owolaja, “who took the vehicle to Azeez Usman’s workshop.”
Obasanjonews24 discovered at the workshop that “the car was butchered into bits and sold in parts.”
The two suspects were properly notified that the aforementioned car was stolen, but they nevertheless went ahead and paid N150,000 for it, according to a police inquiry.
He claimed that Frank Mba, the Ogun County Commissioner of Police, had ordered that all suspects be brought before a judge as soon as the inquiry is complete.
