Family Speaks Out on Man Arrested by DSS Over Russian Flags in Kano
The family of a man arrested by the DSS for producing Russian flags in Kano has spoken out, defending his actions and calling for his release.
Ahmad Muhammad’s family, who is 21 years old and accused of manufacturing Russian flags in Kano, has refuted all allegations against their involvement in the purported deed.
A group of tailors in Kano State suspected of manufacturing a large quantity of Russian flags were recently arrested and detained by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The DSS released a statement via its X handle, sharing that they have caught hold of certain tailors in Kano State who are responsible for creating Russian flags being circulated within the locality. Not just that, but some of their benefactors have also been detained and an inquiry is presently underway.
Nasiru Muhammad, Ahmad’s brother, has denied the allegation that his sibling took part in creating the flags.
He stressed that Ahmad lacks the skills of a tailor and has never operated a sewing machine before.

During an interview with Obasanjonews.com, Nasiru clarified that Ahmad is his biological sibling and was detained on charges of stitching the Russian flag. However, he emphasized that Ahmad isn’t a skilled tailor and lacks knowledge about operating a sewing machine.
Ahmad and Nasiru operate a joint venture in the recycling of used water sachets, as elucidated by Nasiru. He clarified that despite his brother being accused of possession, they did not locate the sewing machine at their residence but instead discovered it housed with an absconding neighbor.
According to Nasiru, Ahmad did not have the flag with him and he neither engaged in any protest nor hoisted the flag. We cautioned him to avoid such actions, which he followed obediently.
The family is urging the security agencies to conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the issue and guarantee that rightful actions are taken.
Nasiru implored the appropriate officials to thoroughly examine the situation and set him free, emphasizing Ahmad’s innocence and lack of involvement in the alleged offense.
