Louis van Gaal, the former manager of Manchester United, has pleaded with the Red Devils not to fire head coach Erik ten Hag.

Van Gaal desires that Ten Hag be given more time at Old Trafford by Manchester United.

In spite of winning the FA Cup the previous season, Ten Hag’s future at Manchester United remained doubtful.

There have been rumours that Ten Hag and Man United may part ways this summer.

He should stay, of sure, but I also wanted more time. In addition, I won the FA Cup; no one had done so in 20 years prior to me. I don’t think you need to fire Erik because he is winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League in his first year. Van Gaal, who led Manchester United from July 2014 until May 2016, stated to Sky Sports that he needed more time.

“However, I am also capable of being more critical; he hasn’t performed flawlessly and may face criticism, but he has also demonstrated that he is an effective manager.”
