EPL: Unbelievably terrible – Sherwood criticises Tottenham’s latest acquisition following 4-1 defeat

Tim Sherwood, a former Tottenham manager, has advised Antonio Conte not to start Pedro Porro ever again, calling the Spaniard “simply awful.”

He criticised the club’s chairman, Daniel Levy, for signing a player of that calibre for the north Londoners, feeling that the 23-year-defence old’s during Tottenham’s 4-1 loss to Leicester City in the Premier League on Saturday was particularly poor.

On transfer deadline day, Tottenham purchased the Spanish right-back from Sporting CP for £5 million with an obligation to purchase this summer for £39 million.

On Saturday at the King Power Stadium, the 23-year-old was only taking the field for Tottenham for the first time.

After 14 minutes, Rodrigo Bentancur gave the visitors the lead, but Nampalys Mendy, James Maddison, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Harvey Barnes scored for Leicester, as Porro struggled mightily.

And the full-defensive back’s efforts astounded Sherwood.

Sherwood told Soccer Saturday, “I don’t want to keep picking on the kid, but he has to be removed of his duties.

Because it is his debut, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, but Pedro Porro is so terrible it is unbelievable.

He is being destroyed on the left side by Barnes and Madison due to his poor stance.
