EPL: It’s insane- Roy Keane’s remarks about Man United midfielder Rio Ferdinand disagrees with
Rio Ferdinand, a former defender for Manchester United, disagrees with Roy Keane’s remarks on Bruno Fernandes.
After the team’s most recent Premier League derby loss to Manchester City, 3-0, Keane had chastised Fernandes and urged Man United manager Erik ten Hag to remove the captain’s armband from him.
Ferdinand, however, now rejects Keane’s idea, stating that it would be “crazy” to remove Fernandes from the team’s captaincy and that it won’t be the correct decision to make.

Ferdinand stated, “Who else is there?” on the FIVE podcast. I would respond, “Alright, you can consider that,” but making remarks like that. If someone leaped off the page and you thought, “Yeah, he should actually go and get it.”
Saying that is absurd. Since the quantity of sagas that have occurred off the pitch has been one of Erik ten Hag’s main issues.
“After the [Mason] Greenwood incident, the [Jadon] Sancho incident, and the Antony incident, do you now wish to start another by assuming the captaincy? When Maguire left the team and removed his armband, observe the impact that had on the group.
These are significant choices. You want to add additional drama to the mix when a football club made a huge choice that creates headlines for all the wrong reasons by implementing armbands? It’s not at all the right call, in my opinion.
