EPL: Brighton triumph over Palace adds to Hodgson’s woes

Brighton put pressure on Eagles manager Roy Hodgson by easily defeating rival Crystal Palace in the Premier League with three goals in the first half.
Lewis Dunk rose to the highest point to head in a corner from Pascal Gross in the first five minutes of the game, giving Palace a second straight defeat. Palace had a dismal start.

The first half saw Roberto de Zerbi’s team dominate possession of the ball, and in the 33rd minute, Jack Hinshelwood headed in Tariq Lamptey’s cross at the back post to double the lead.

A minute later, Adam Wharton, the new signing on deadline day, was caught in possession, and Gross set up Facundo Buonanotte for an easy close-range goal, making things worse for the visitors.
