Joe Cole, a former Chelsea player, has cautioned Arsenal that they will need to spend over £100 million to acquire Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa.
Cole believes that Luiz is now outperforming Moises Caicedo, the high-profile signing for Chelsea.

Prior to the January transfer window, Luiz is one of Arsenal’s main targets in the midfield.
Nonetheless, it is acknowledged that in order to pay for a transfer for the Brazilian midfielder, Mikel Arteta’s team would have to sell players.
The current deal Luiz has with Aston Villa expires in 2026.
Cole thinks Arsenal would need to make another high-profile acquisition in order to persuade Aston Villa to part with a valuable player in the upcoming season.
“It has to be in the ballpark if you are looking at the price tag around them [Declan Rice, Enzo Fernandes, and Moises Caicedo],” Cole stated to TNT Sports.
He’s been doing about as well as they have, possibly even better than Caicedo. Like he has been, Rice has also been exceptional.
“However, he is a tremendous asset for the club and is in and around those numbers.”
