Enugu: Mother and sister found dead, allegedly killed by man and buried in shallow grave

According to the Enugu State Police Command, a young guy has been taken into custody for the suspected murder of his mother, who was buried beneath their Umuagu Inyi town home in the state’s Oji River Local Government.

The state police command’s spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, said BBC Igbo that the investigation into the man’s crime has begun.

The man was named in reports as Som Orji, and his mother was named as Mrs. Charity Orji.

The incident occurred on Sunday night, December 3, 2023, according to Mr. Anoliefo, President General of Umuagu Inyi, who spoke with BBC Igbo.

“Last Sunday night, a young guy murdered his mother and buried her body next to their bathing area in the back of the house.

“On Monday morning, the young man and his mother were living in a house where a villager noticed blood in the rear. The villager cried out and alerted the security forces.”

“The young man was arrested as people gathered and began questioning him about the source of the blood. He claimed that it was his mother’s blood that he had killed at night.

“He led them to the back of the home, where he buried his mother’s body, when they inquired where his body was. People and security personnel made him carry his mother’s body.

Additionally, early this year, Som allegedly admitted to killing his sister, Miss Ukamaka Orji.

Ejike Ilo Tasie, the “President General” of all the towns under the Oji River, claimed to have learned that the man who killed his mother had used drugs.

He declared that in order to apprehend individuals who sell drugs in any way, they would start tracking them down.
