An APC chieftain from Osun State pleads with President Tinubu to address the ongoing fuel scarcity in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for a lasting solution to the recurring crisis.

Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, an APC chieftain based in Osun State, has implored President Bola Tinubu to intercede and resolve the persistent fuel shortage issue plaguing Nigeria.

Oyintiloye said that Nigerians were anticipating the end of fuel scarcity following the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government.

On the contrary, instead of getting better, the situation has deteriorated and caused immeasurable difficulties for Nigerians who are now compelled to buy fuel at exorbitant rates.

President Tinubu was urged to launch an investigation into the operations of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in order to identify the underlying reasons for continuous fuel shortages.

Oyintiloye emphasized that the current economic difficulties should not be compounded by insufficient fuel supply.

He pointed out that over the past few months, Nigerians have been struggling to acquire petroleum products from fuel stations throughout the nation. He implored the President to help alleviate the considerable suffering endured by Nigerian citizens as a result of this scarcity in fuel.

Oyintiloye voiced his worry about the recurring fuel shortage in Nigeria, stating that it shouldn’t be a norm. He mentioned how Nigerians have been queuing overnight at filling stations to procure petrol for their businesses and cars in recent weeks. A lot of these stations face shortages while others who happen to have stock sell them at inflated rates, which is unjustifiable.

He pressed upon the President to take all measures feasible for rehabilitating the country’s refineries and highlighted that if all four Nigerian refineries were functioning at maximum capacity, fuel shortages would be eliminated completely.

According to Oyintiloye, the masses are facing an unbearable burden and there is a pressing requirement for intervention from the President.
