El-Rufai Launches New Development Initiative in Northern Nigeria

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has introduced a new initiative aimed at driving socio-economic development in Northern Nigeria, focusing on key sectors to uplift the region.

Leading an ambitious effort aimed at revolutionizing the tech ecosystem in Northern Nigeria is Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.

The goal of the initiative is to unite a varied assembly of technology aficionados, creators, pioneers, sponsors and officials from throughout Africa in order to substantially elevate technological investments within the area.

This groundbreaking initiative is set to take flight at the Arewa Tech Fest 2024 in Kano State on September 25 and 26.

Governor Abba Yusuf, who leads the Kano State government, has strongly supported the event according to a statement made by Bello El-Rufai – one of El-Rufai’s sons.

The festival is set to have notable speakers such as Benedict Oramah, the President of Afreximbank; Sumaila Zubairu, Africa Finance Corporation’s CEO; and Amal Hassan, Founder of Outsource Global.

According to El-Rufai, the festival marks a significant achievement in showcasing the untapped potential of Northern Nigeria’s tech and innovation industries.

It’s anticipated that the occasion will motivate and prepare the upcoming cohort of tech pioneers, particularly women and youngsters, providing them with essential resources to flourish in an ever-changing digital terrain.

Furthermore, the occasion will witness the introduction of Arewa Tech Fund that strives to furnish crucial monetary assistance and assets to prospective technology startups located in Northern Nigeria.
