The designed Naira notes will be unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, according to Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele.
At the monthly meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank in Abuja, Emefiele made this announcement.
Remember that Emefiele had declared in October that the central bank will begin issuing redesigned N200, N500, and N1,000 notes on December 15, 2022?
He has revealed, however, that the CBN would no longer hold off on revealing the new notes until December.
He said that there will be no postponement of the deadline for delivering the old Naira notes to commercial banks in exchange for the new ones.
