There is growing discontent within the Ekiti state chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s decision to appoint political associates of former Governor Ayodele Fayose.

Some stakeholders of the APC expressed their disappointment on Wednesday, May 15, regarding the selection of several of Fayose’s loyalists as Special Advisers (SAs) and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), while members of the APC are still awaiting appointments.

Stakeholders, represented by Concerned Ekiti APC stakeholders, released a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday, led by Prince Aderobaki Adeleye, expressing concern over the appointments given to members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite their sacrifices and contributions to the party’s success in the last governorship election.

Describing the governor’s actions as unacceptable and potentially divisive within the APC, the stakeholders called for an immediate reversal of the appointments to ensure the party’s survival.

They highlighted the unfairness of appointing Fayose’s associates over loyal APC members, emphasizing the need for the national leadership of the party to intervene and address the situation promptly.
