In Abuja, Lagos, and 14 other states, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has started selling 160 confiscated homes and properties worth billions of naira.

The commission set January 9, 2023, as the deadline for possible buyers to send in their bids.

The EFCC previously held 649 vehicle auctions in Lagos and Abuja.

Obasan learned that the projected auction houses and the homes owned by politicians and government officials were obtained dishonestly while they were in power.

Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum, owned some of the real estate that was up for auction, and Ayodele Oke, a former director of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), purchased other pieces of real estate.
