EFCC Brings Charges Against Two Individuals for Alleged Contract Fraud in Enugu
The Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought suspects Onuaguluchi Chris and Izuchukwu David before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Enugu, facing a five-count charge related to conspiracy, retention of proceeds of crime, and obtaining money through false pretenses totaling N382,336,955.
The accused allegedly defrauded Mackombo Omoila, the Managing Director/CEO of Architekon Nigeria Limited, by claiming to have a non-existent World Health Organization contract to build six Unity Houses for hospitals in Ebonyi State.

The charges include detailed accounts of the fraudulent activities, with the defendants pleading not guilty during the arraignment.
The EFCC counsels requested a trial date and for the defendants to be remanded at the Enugu State Correctional facility, while the defense counsels mentioned pending bail applications before the court.
