Edo Man Killed After Answering Suspicious Call

A man in Edo was tragically gunned down after he went out to meet a strange caller, raising concerns over mysterious and dangerous encounters.

In Edo State, a tragic event unfolded as Abdulrafiu Afegbua, a man in his middle years, was killed by gunmen believed to be assassins.

The incident occurred on October 5 in the Awoyemi area of Okpella community, within Etsako East Local Government Area.

It has been reported that Afegbua received a late-night phone call while he was at home with his wife. Despite her urging him to disregard the call, he hurried out to meet the unknown caller.

Shortly after he departed, Afegbua was shot at close range in the chest and neck, resulting in his death.

After waiting for her husband’s return and receiving no response to her calls, Afegbua’s wife notified others.

A search party eventually discovered his body in a nearby bush, along with his deserted motorbike.

Edo State Police spokesperson Superintendent Moses Yamu confirmed the incident and announced that an investigation is in progress to determine the circumstances of the killing.

Authorities are actively working to identify those responsible and ensure they face justice.
