Edo impeachment: Having two deputy governors was never something I foresaw- Obaseki
The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, expressed his surprise at having to work with two deputy governors during his eight-year tenure in office, as reported by Obasanjonews.com.
This statement was made during the swearing-in ceremony of Omobayo Marvellous Godwins as the new deputy governor, following the impeachment of Philip Shaibu by the Edo State House of Assembly on April 8, 2024.
Obaseki referenced Proverb 16:9 to emphasize that there is no vacuum in government, leading to the appointment of a new deputy governor.

He reflected on the journey since taking office in 2016, gaining the trust for a second term in 2020, and highlighted the unexpected turn of events that led to the current situation.
