The Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, has promised to guarantee the integrity, fairness, and freedom of the Edo governorship primary election.

This was said by Caleb Mutfwang, the governor of Plateau State and chairman of the primary screening committee, to PDP candidates at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
“We are going to be strong advocates for a level playing field; we respect the concerns that you have all stated.
Since I would be benefiting from the process, we will make sure that it is transparent and equitable in the end.”
When all is said and done, Mutfwang promised, “we will make sure that we will still work together as one big family.”
Speaking on behalf of the candidates, Mr Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo, pledged to follow the regulations.
Speaking also, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, a different candidate, stated that the PDP needs to work very hard to win the Edo governorship race.
Former PDP Governors’ Forum Director-General Onaiwu stated that if the correct action was taken, all of the candidates will back the candidate of the party for the election.
“We cannot allow Edo to fall into the hands of the opposition; winning Edo is a priority to the party and a must-win for PDP.”
“As long as the process is free, fair, and transparent, I have told everyone to put aside their egos and support whoever emerges as the PDP candidate for Edo state,” Onaiwu declared.
