Days after El-Zakzaky met with Iran’s Khamenei, Shiites ask Nigeria to cut ties with Israel

In light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine, the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has called on the federal government to sever ties with Israel, just 14 days after Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of Nigeria’s Shiite community, met with Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, in Tehran.

educating reporters Prof. Abdullahi Danladi, the chairman of the IMN Resource Forum, denounced “oppression on Palestinian territories” and the further escalation of the war on Saturday in Abuja.

“The purpose of our gathering is to address you and the good people of Nigeria and beyond on the ongoing escalation of atrocities being committed on the people of Palestine by the illegal Zionist State of Israel,” stated Danladi in his speech.

It is known that Sheikh Ibraheem Yaqoub El-Zakzaky (H), our leader, has advocated for solidarity with all marginalised and oppressed people worldwide, not just the Palestinians.

“A new chapter in human history has begun with the recent events in the Middle East, especially in the occupied country of Palestine. Under the observation and control of the hypocritical America and her vile friends, the Zionists have been killing and forcibly evicting the Palestinians from their homes for more than 75 years. Thousands have died so far, the majority of them were women and children. Israel’s atrocities have not spared hospitals, schools, refugee camps, or places of worship.

“Where are the so-called defenders of democracy and human ideals as well as human rights advocates? Not only does America remain silent, but it also brazenly sends warships to back Israel’s ongoing massacres, abusing human lives and freedom.

“It is evident that the illegal state of Israel is currently the most despised and cursed state in the world due to the outpouring of support that people of all faiths and nationalities, including some right-wing Jews, are giving to the weak and oppressed people of Palestine on a global scale.”

It is a recognised truth that Israel has repeatedly violated the United Nations Charter and resolutions about this illegal occupation, which has allowed them to expand and intrude into the extremely small land of Palestine, he said. Thus, to put it mildly, the resistance that we all witness from Hamas is consistent with the fundamental ideals of self-determination, self-defense, and the defence of human rights.

These courageous individuals have persisted in their noble fight. As a result, we salute you and promise to keep you in our prayers and thoughts. In fact, the Islamic Movement has continuously demonstrated its unwavering support for the oppressed Palestine for more than thirty years, led by the esteemed Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).

We would like to invite people who are not familiar with Middle Eastern history and current events, and who often view Zionists as fellow believers, to look beyond religious beliefs and consider factors such as race, colour, and ethnicity. The latest attacks on hospitals and churches demonstrate that this goes beyond a religious dispute and is instead a crime against humanity that needs to be denounced.

“The barbarous acts’ desperation only highlights Israel’s vulnerability as an unlawful state and serves as a crystal-clear indicator of their impending collapse in the not-too-distant future. Allah’s ultimate triumph is for the downtrodden.

“On this note, we unite in demanding that the Nigerian government sever all connections and affiliations with the undocumented immediately.”
