Elvert Ayambem, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, revealed that one of the primary factors they looked for in the screened nominees for commissioners was their competence to deliver their polling units.
Before the screening processes commenced, Ayambem addressed the commissioners designate.
He warned them that the screening would be demanding and advised them to persevere throughout the procedure.
According to Ayanbem, the nominees were expected to show consistency, impartiality, and a demonstrated ability to deliver results from their polling stations in the recent elections.
“Any nominee who fails to meet these standards may be disqualified from their roles.”
“The screening process is crucial for ensuring that the governor’s vision for the state is supported by a capable and effective team of commissioners.”
The Speaker went on to say that the committee on judiciary/petition and conflict resolution’s engagement ensures that the nominees have the necessary attributes and competence to serve the public effectively.
He promised that none of the commissioners-designate would be overlooked.
He stated unequivocally that the Chairman of the Committee on Judiciary/Petition and Conflict Resolution, Rt. Hon Dr Davies Etta, member representing Abi State Constituency, has been charged with strictness.
