Cross-Party Move: Tinubu Selects PDP National Vice Chairman Dan Orbih

President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Dan Orbih, the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-south, as the Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Anambra State.

This announcement was made as part of the list of newly reconstituted governing councils of tertiary education institutions in the country, which was released by the Federal Government on Friday.

It is worth noting that Orbih, who hails from Etsako, has had a strained relationship with the PDP leadership in Edo State, particularly with regards to the 2024 Governorship Campaign Council.

In April 2024, he declined his membership in the Edo PDP 2024 Governorship Campaign Council, despite being featured on the 200-member Campaign Council list for the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election.

The council, which is supporting the campaign of Asue Ighodalo, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, is led by Governor Godwin Obaseki as Chairman, alongside his deputy, Marvellous Omobayo Godwins.
