Justice James Kolawole Omotoso of the Federal High Court in Abuja has given approval for the impeached Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shaibu, to join the Speaker of the state assembly in his legal challenge against his impeachment.

The Judge also allowed the former Deputy Governor to include his successor as a defendant in the case.

The Judge agreed with Shaibu’s counsel that both the Speaker and the new Deputy Governor are necessary parties in the suit, as stated in Section 188 of the 1999 Constitution.
