Court Invalidates APC Congresses in Rivers State
A court ruling nullifies the All Progressives Congress (APC) congresses in Rivers State, raising questions about the party’s internal processes and leadership structure.
The High Court of Rivers State in Port Harcourt has nullified the Local Government and State Congresses organized by the Tony Okocha-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
The Rivers State APC, led by Okocha, held the congresses despite a court order prohibiting them.
The National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, inaugurated the new executives from the congresses on December 14.
Some party members filed a lawsuit against the congresses, alleging that they were excluded from the process even though they had made the necessary payments.
