Court has granted Tukur Mamu the right to see his own doctor
Due to his purportedly declining health, Tukur Mamu, the suspected terrorist negotiator, was able to see his own physician thanks to an order from Federal High Court Judge Inyang Ekwo in Abuja.
Mamu’s doctor is to be allowed to treat him, according to a ruling by Justice Ekwo, under the supervision of the medical team of the Department of State Service.
Justice Ekwo questioned David Kaswe, the attorney for the Federal Government, if the defendant had a right to see his own doctor, to which he replied in the positive, concurring with Mamu’s attorney Johnson Usman’s position.
The trial was later postponed to February 26–28, 2024 by him.
Mamu is on trial for his suspected connections to terrorists who carried out the 2022 train attack that targeted Kaduna. On behalf of the Nigerian government, Interpol detained him on September 6, 2022, in Cairo, Egypt.
