The PDP is not permitted to suspend or expel Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers from the party, according to an extension of the injunction issued by an Abuja Federal High Court.
Justice James Omotosho issued the order on Tuesday after the governor’s attorney, Dr. Joshua Musa, SAN, and the PDP and other parties’ attorney, Johnson Usman, SAN, agreed on March 6 to present their cases.
In response to Wike’s application from February 2 that sought a restraining order against the party and those specified, Justice Omotosho issued one on February 2.
Along with its National Working Committee, NWC, and National Executive Committee, NEC, as well as PDP’s National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, other parties have joined the lawsuit, which is marked FHC/ABJ/CS/139/2023.
In response to the threat to suspend or expel him from the party, the governor is pleading for an order instructing all parties to maintain the status quo and to halt all measures in the subject.
Wike further requested permission from the court to use substituted methods to serve the first through fifth respondents with the motion on notice, originating motion, and any other court-related processes in the suit by posting the relevant documents at the PDP National Secretariat.

Justice Omotosho granted all requested reliefs after hearing from Wike’s attorney, Dr. J. Y. Musa, SAN.
He said: “That permission is hereby granted to the applicant (Wike) to serve the originating motion, motion on notice, and all other processes of this court in this suit on the first through fifth respondents by substituted means, to wit, by pasting all the said processes of court on PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
