Ibuchukwu Ezike, the Executive Director of CLO, emphasized that the awarded sum reflects the compensation for damages suffered by Samboro Community, which faced forced displacement and destruction of their livelihoods as a result of the Zungeru Hydro-electric Power Dam construction in the state.
The press conference held in Abuja aimed to shed light on the dire situation of the residents of Samboro Community in Madaka District, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State, who were uprooted and displaced from their land due to the flawed design and construction of the Zungeru Hydro-electric Power Dam by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
