Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to strengthening economic collaboration between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

During a recent courtesy visit to the Central Bank of Nigeria headquarters by H.E. Faisal bin Ibrahim Alghamdi, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Nigeria, and his delegation, Mr. Cardoso highlighted the Bank’s dedication to fostering partnerships in key sectors that stimulate economic growth.

In a statement provided to Platinum Post, Dr. Ibrahim Modibo highlighted Cardoso’s assertion that the CBN is ready to play an essential role in promoting collaboration, which would lead to significant economic benefits for both countries through enhanced cooperation.

The Central Bank of Nigeria remains dedicated to fostering partnerships that will strengthen economic connections between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.

“We will keep exploring opportunities that provide real benefits for both countries,” stated Mr. Cardoso.

He also praised the Saudi government for its hospitality during the recently concluded AIUla event, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Finance in partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Regional Office in Riyadh.

In his reply, Ambassador Alghamdi thanked the CBN Governor for the warm welcome and emphasized Saudi Arabia’s desire to enhance bilateral cooperation.

He highlighted the Kingdom’s eagerness to collaborate with Nigeria in vital economic areas, especially renewable energy, agriculture, and water connectivity.

Ambassador Alghamdi expressed their enthusiasm for enhancing the relationship with Nigeria and exploring opportunities that will benefit both nations’ prosperity.

The visit represents another significant step in Nigeria-Saudi relations, as both nations aim to capitalize on their unique strengths for sustainable economic growth and stability.
