Carragher stated that Arsenal, currently leading the table with 64 points, cannot afford to lose to City.
He pointed out that although Mikel Arteta’s team is only one point ahead of City, a loss for Arsenal would severely impact their chances of winning the league.
Carragher also highlighted the importance of this match from a Liverpool perspective, as a City loss would benefit Liverpool’s title aspirations by reducing the competition to just one team.
Despite the relatively small point difference, Carragher acknowledged the psychological impact that a defeat for Arsenal could have on Liverpool’s pursuit of the league title.
