CAF approves Abuja, Uyo Stadium for the Super Eagles in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja will host Super Eagles 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, according to the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Next month, play in the qualifiers will pick back up, with the Super Eagles scheduled to play Guinea-Bissau twice.

With six points after winning their first two matches against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe, Jose Peseiro’s team is in first place in Group B.

24 nations will have to play their home matches at a neutral site since CAF did not approve of their home stadiums.

The two largest nations in North Africa, Egypt (six) and Algeria (five), have the most permitted stadiums.

Cote d’Ivoire will host the AFCON in 2023.
