Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, and President Muhammadu Buhari have been invited by Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike to officially open certain projects in the State.

Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governor of Edo, was also invited to the project’s opening.

The Governor, who was recently given a Distinguished Award in Infrastructure by President Buhari, is scheduled to launch over 16 finished projects from November 14 to December 2nd, including world-class, multi-billion dollar health and educational initiatives.

The world-class Nabo Graham Douglas Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Port Harcourt, in the Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, will be opened on November 18 and will be tastefully finished and furnished, according to a list of project openings seen by. Buhari, represented by one of his aides, will perform the ceremony.

On November 16, Obi, a former governor of Anambra, is slated to open the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover in Port Harcourt.

Oshomhole, a prominent supporter of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, was asked to open the Rumepirikon Flyover on November 15.

Oshiomole’s invitation was noted to have raised eyebrows because of his strained relationship with Wike, particularly during the run-up to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki’s election for a second term.

As he worked to obtain a second term for Obaseki, who he subsequently referred to as a “serial betrayer,” Wike publicly apologized to Oshiomole for all the temper tantrums he had thrown at him.

Additionally, Wike welcomed HRH Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano, to officially open the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases Diagnostic and Treatment Centre as part of the series of festivities.

The freshly finished Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute and Federal Judicial Commission Liaison Office are slated to be inaugurated by the Chief Justice of the Federation, while the Police Intelligence Centre will be opened by the Inspector-General of Police.
