Broos considers the possibility of winning against the Eagles in the June qualifiers

Hugo Broos, the head coach of Bafana Bafana, is optimistic about the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup doubleheader against the Super Eagles in June.

He believes that the infusion of new young players into the team could potentially tilt the results in their favor, especially after their close encounter with the Super Eagles in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final.

With the World Cup qualifier fast approaching, Broos, who has experience coaching the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, expressed his confidence in the new players he has identified.

He mentioned his intention to introduce these young talents not only in the World Cup Qualifiers but also in the AFCON Qualifiers.

Broos emphasized the importance of these new players proving themselves and earning their spot in the team for the upcoming months.

He highlighted the significance of gradually integrating these young talents into the squad to strengthen the team’s performance in both the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.

Currently, South Africa is positioned second in Group A, trailing behind Rwanda, who surprisingly leads the group.
